Mission of GLOBE-STEAMSS

The GLOBAL-STEAMSS project aims to transform higher education:

  • to better prepare students for the complexities of the modern world
  • addressing social and environmental challenges.
  • Its future-oriented approach to STEAM and Social Sciences (SS) education integrates technological advancements in AI technologies and data integration systems, sustainability as global competency
  • a pedagogical model based on open education and inclusivity, and the participation of women into a coherent framework.

 

 

Project Goals

Interdisciplinary Learning

The project's innovation lies in its holistic, future-oriented approach to STEAM and Social Sciences (SS) education, which integrates technological advancements, sustainability, global competency, and inclusivity into a coherent framework.

Collaborative Learning Environment

The project aims to foster collaboration among students and educators, promoting teamwork and shared learning experiences.

Hands-on Learning Experiences

GLOBE-STEAMSS emphasizes hands-on learning, inspiring creativity and critical thinking in students.

Inquiry-Based Education

  • encompasses research in AI technologies,
  • the development of a framework of competencies with learning paths
  • an innovative pedagogical model based on open educational resources  (OERs)
  • the creation of open data spaces
  • the active community co-creation.

Expected
Outcomes

  • Develop a competencies framework for integrating critical sustainability skills from existing curricula needed for societal advancement into Higher Education Curricula;

  • Produce and discover AI-driven new, open-access digital learning materials and pathways tailored to the curricula;

  • Develop an advanced Dataspace platform powered by AI technology to collect, organize, and align OER, and

  • Creation of Community of Practice (CoP) around design challenges in citizen science projects
